Leather softens with gradual wear. Start with short periods on carpeted or forgiving surfaces, and build up time slowly. There is no fast track, and each foot shapes the shoe differently. A well-fitted kitten heel helps, since the lower height reduces pressure on the ball of the foot during the break-in period.
A kitten heel typically measures between 3 and 5 centimetres, with the heel set back from the centre. A classic pump runs higher, often 7 centimetres or more, with the heel placed more centrally under the foot. The kitten heel is the only silhouette currently in this collection, and its lower, rear-set profile changes how weight is carried through the shoe.
The lower height and rear-set placement of a kitten heel distribute weight differently from a stiletto. This is the only heel construction we currently stock, and it is the shape most often chosen for extended wear.
