Stone Island has long been celebrated for its pioneering textile and garment‐research approach. In 1984, the brand first introduced denim fabrics into its collection, and in the early 2000s it launched a dedicated “Stone Island Denims” line.
For Fall/Winter 2025–26, Stone Island officially revived the denim category through the “Denim Research” capsule, reimagining one of fashion’s most classic fabrics via the brand’s technical lens.
This revival underlines Stone Island’s commitment to fabric innovation, beyond seasonal hype: rather than just “denim jeans”, the collection spans jackets, overshirts, utility vests and trousers woven in atypical denim‐inspired materials.

Material Experimentation:

The collection uses materials like Indigo Polypropylene Denim, David Light Indigo‐TC, Micro Corduroy, alongside traditional Japanese raw selvedge denim.

“Polypropylene denim” is described by the brand as being woven from one of the lightest synthetic fibres combined with cotton, achieving the appearance of classic denim but with a lighter weight and alternative texture.
