More dynamic and innovative than ever before, Gran Sasso has built its reputation based on meticulous research into design and the use of yarns such as cashmere, merino wool, cotton, and linen. The firm's production is entirely Made In Italy, with particular attention to detail and skillful craftsmanship traditions. Having begun as a classical knitwear manufacturer, the firm set up an internal design department in the early seventies to create a series of collections. Alongside their classical knitwear styles, Gran Sasso introduced some designs that were more in line with current trends. By the early eighties, Gran Sasso had become an important Italian market leader and then started to penetrate foreign markets which now account for more than half the sales.
